What Are Dental Veneers?

Veneers are a popular cosmetic dentistry option that can enhance the color, shape, and size of your teeth. These thin, custom-made shells are placed over the front surface of your teeth and are typically made of porcelain or composite resin to look like natural teeth. They can be used to correct a variety of cosmetic issues, such as discoloration, chips, and gaps.

Benefits of Veneers

In addition to boosting your confidence, here are the many benefits veneers can offer you.

  • Veneers can improve the color, shape, and size of teeth.
  • Veneers are used to close gaps between teeth and to correct mild misalignments.
  • Veneers are a less invasive option than crowns and can be used to improve the appearance of a single tooth or multiple teeth.

Why are Veneers So Popular?

Veneers are a popular choice for cosmetic dentistry because they are a minimally invasive option that can provide a natural-looking result. They can also be used to address multiple cosmetic issues at once!

If you are unhappy with the appearance of your teeth, veneers may be a good option for you. They can be used to correct a variety of cosmetic issues, such as discoloration, chips, and gaps.

Who is a Good Candidate for Veneers?

A good candidate for veneers is someone with healthy teeth and gums who wants to improve the appearance of their teeth. They are also suitable for people who have discoloration, gaps, or minor misalignment issues.

How Long Do Veneers Last?

Veneers can last for several years, but the lifespan of veneers can vary depending on factors such as oral hygiene and biting habits. With proper care, veneers may last up to 10-15 years. Regular dental visits to Dr. Schuster will also help ensure your veneers last as long as possible!

Alternatives to Veneers

While veneers are a great option for many patients, they may not be the best choice for everyone. In case veneers are not suitable for you, we offer alternatives:

  • Teeth whitening: if your main concern is discoloration, teeth whitening may be an alternative to veneers.
  • Dental bonding: bonding is a procedure in which composite resin is applied to the tooth to improve its appearance.
  • Invisalign: if your main concern is misalignment, Invisalign may be an alternative to veneers.
  • Crowns: Crowns are another option to improve the appearance of a tooth. They are more invasive than veneers but provide more stability to the tooth structure.
